A bit about us
The idea for Parent Play School was born when, along with millions of other parents, former Early Years teacher, childminder and play specialist, Emma Greenshields, found herself at home in lockdown with an active two year old to entertain.

“As social media filled with photographs of children completing home learning tasks, I noticed posts from parents, tearing their hair out, trying to keep their little ones busy and build in some learning too. I know first hand that understanding and encouraging children's play at home isn't always easy. Reflecting back on my teaching experience, I thought ‘I can help with this!’”

Rekindling parents' love of play and giving them the tools to get their families playing together.
KNOWLEDGE
Empowering parents with the knowledge and understanding to support their children's learning through play.
CHILD LED
Building parents' confidence to trust in their children and follow their lead, observing and providing what they need.
FUN
We know that play is the best way for children to learn and develop - so let's make it fun above all else!
“By creating resources for parents, based on the power of learning through play, I started to share the tips and tricks used by early years professionals to create a playful environment, giving parents the knowledge and understanding to do it for themselves.
It doesn't mean having a picture perfect playroom, worthy of an Instagram post. I want to empower parents to feel confident to build meaningful play and learning experiences into their daily rhythms. By simply following our children's lead, we can promote their development at home, and have fun doing it too.”

Having spent my career working with children, before starting a family myself, I know how useful it can be to have the tips and tricks used by Early Years experts in your back pocket as a parent.
I believe that by giving parents the tools and understanding to support their children's learning through play, we can give children the best possible start, while bringing families closer together too.
That's why I've put together my practical guide to supporting your child as they play, learn and grow. Covering everything from setting up a play space that works for you, to encouraging your child's independence – you can find it on Amazon now!
